This Is How We Kick-Start Our Spring In Greenpoint

So, I can finally say SPRING has come !!

Flowers started to bloom around here and there.

That was LONG winter.

やっとここにも春が来たよー！！

家の近くの花たちもだんだんつぼみから花へ。

長かった冬。。。。

To start beautiful spring here in Greenpoint, we had our annual Spring Market :)

ここ、グリーンポイントの春を迎えるイベントと言えばスプリング・マーケット :)

We had over 70 local vendors includes jewellery/apparel designer, bakers, and more !!

今回も、地元ニューヨークのアーティストやフードベンダーたち７０組以上が集まってくれたよ　：)

I usually join as a Photo Booth Designer/Photographer but this time, I joined as an organizer thanks to Jen, the owner of Greenpointers!!

How Exciting and it was !!

いつもはPhoto Boothのデザイン＆撮影だけで参加するのだけど、

今回はオーガナイザーとして参加したよ :)

I walked around to shops in Greenpoint and asked people to put our posters, e-talking with vendors....... ↓↓look look at this adorable illustration by our sweet illustrator Libby!

グリーンポイントにあるお店を歩いて回ってこの可愛いくってたまらないポスターを貼ってくださいな〜ってお願いに行ったり、ベンダーたちに色々コンタクトしたり・・・・。（↓↓見てみて！！イラストレーターのLibbyが描いてくれたポスター！！）

This was the most dangerous mission for me...

why ?? because, ok, think about it. What you find at cafe.

oh and this one cafe, they even have florist in their cafe !! (Oh I'm sure you will love here...)

Of course, I HAD TO try some of them. some means a cup of coffee, macaroon and a flower cactus.

これが何て言ったって、危険なミッションだった。だって、カフェを回るんだよ。

カフェに何があるかってね。

コーヒーとスイーツ。

しかも、あるカフェは何とお花屋さんも一緒という。

色々歩いて回っている間、マカロンとコーヒーと、黄色いお花がてっぺんにちょこっとくっついたサボテンを。。。ついついね。つい。

Oh hay and Photo Booth, of course, I couldn't give up my longing to make Photo Booth even I became organizer......

オーガナイザーと言っても、もう既に昨年からやみつきになっているPhoto Booth作りをあきらめるわけにはいかず。

The theme for this time Spring Market was "Herb" as your can see from the poster.

But it's kind of hard to find Herb in early April here so I decided to make with Springy flower mix with Eucalyptus.

The smell of Eucalyptus is just so amazing. (I wonder if coala smells good because that's what they eat.......natural perfume for them !? )

今回のマーケットのテーマはポスターを見てわかるように「ハーブ」

でも季節的にハーブを見つけるのは難しかった・・・。

だから、春らしい花たちとユーカリプタスを選んだよ。

ユーカリプタスって本当に良い香りだね！！そういえばさ、コアラってユーカリプタスを食べるんだよね。良い香りするのかな？？天然香水の働きがあったり！？

There's famous flower district (I'm going to take you when you come!!) here, but it's in the city so I just hopped on a bus and went to deli close to our place ;)

ここには、有名なフラワー街道（？）があるのだけれど、マンハッタンまで行かなければなので、バスに乗って近くのデリにて調達。

The uncle florist was super nice and gave me piece of advice :) -he even gave me very very good deal on those roses....

Look at the colours !! They look so happy under the sunshine don't they !?

デリのお花屋さんのおじさんはとーっても良い人で、この花が良いんじゃない？なんてアドバイスをくれながら、可愛いお花たくさん一緒に選んで、この薔薇も可愛いお値段でくれて、嬉しかった :)

Our house got filled with the aroma of these pretty flowers. HOW NICE !!

見て。写真では伝わるかな。こんな大きなブーケ！！

家の中は甘い香りとユーカリプタスのアロマで満ちあふれたよ。

Time to set-up !! You know I'm not quite a morning person.
,Getting on a car service at 6:30 in the morning with this giant bouquet and go to the venue, I felt like I became one-day florist
朝は、（そんなに）得意じゃない私としては、６時半に車にこの大きなブーケと一緒に乗り込んで会場に向かう。というシナリオが、1日お花屋さんになった気分だったよ。

The view of 5,000 square feet with nobody inside in the morning light was kind of breathtaking.

(So I put flower in the middle to give a life there......cheezy)

5,000スクエアもあるこの会場、朝陽に照らされたこの空間は美しかった。。。

（ちょっと独りでこの空気にひたり、お花を真ん中に置いて写真とってみたり。くうっ。）
