Hey Sairka, what did I do this weekend? You already know!
Yep, her and I went to Art Fair Tokyo’s
preview on March 6th, 2014.
The show was open from March 7 – 9. The artfair is like every Spring thing to do for us!
What is so cool about art fair is that you
can enjoy and feel art all at once! Hundred of galleries and artists show
pieces of works. I really enjoyed walking around the booths in chaotic theme because I felt like
I am in maze looking for “The artwork” that I fall in love with.
Spring has come… so I walked and smelled
for colors trying to find goodies…
Artist: Tsuruko Yamazaki, represented by
Take Ninagawa Gallery.
I love how the surface has glossy mirror
look, and variety of vivid colors and spontaneous shapes fuse into each other
in 2 dimensional scene. I somehow feel the sense of depth.
Artist: Motohiro Tomii, represented by Yumiko Chiba Associates.
Looking through from top, and sides, it gives us different faces. The neon-color straight lines inside, repeating the same pattern... I kind of like this "neatness".
I would love to find out artsts' intention and purpose of works, but at the same time, I kind of wish not to know so that I can interpret art freely, which stimulate my creativity ;)
So hello to Yuka, how is the windy town Chicago treating you? Let us know how you doing?
xoxo,
Mariko
